Indoor Accomodation

There are two accommodation facilities available at the site, Bispham House and Harold’s Hut:

Bispham House

Bispham House is a modern single storey building with central heating, hot and cold water and a fully equipped kitchen. It has been designed with easy access for disabled people in mind. Vehicles can come right up to the building for loading and unloading; adjacent parking is reserved for residents only. Visitors should use the main car park. This facility is ideal for groups who want the fun and excitement of outdoors combined with the comfort and security of indoor accommodation. Groups wishing to use the site for day visits or as a base for a particular event are also welcome.

Bispham House can accommodate groups of up to forty in size. There are two ten bed dormitories, two six bed rooms, three double and two single rooms. There are dual toilets and showers to enable mixed sex use. A large activity hall opens onto a south facing quadrangle so that both indoor and outdoor activities can be accommodated. The large kitchen and dining room is complete with all crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. There is also a small office/quiet room and a spacious lounge for relaxation. Please note that indoor footwear must be worn, and the House should be left in a clean and tidy condition. Any damage or breakages should be immediately reported to the Duty Warden. Failure to report damage could result in charge being invoiced for the cost of repairs.

Harold’s Hut

Harold’s Hut is a new addition to Bispham Hall, opened at the Chariot Race in October 2009. The hut is dedicated to the memory of Harold Smith who was a former treasurer at Bispham Hall.

The Hut is a bothy type wooden cabin located at the bottom of Cottage field and is suitable for patrols or small groups. The hut is also ideal for a number of uses whilst camping under canvas on the Cottage.
